Santee Courthouse Elopement │Krysta + Adam
Krysta and Adam reached out to me to shoot their San Diego wedding, pre-COVID days when the world was a simpler place. Like many couples, they had to re-think their initial plans to have a big wedding in 2020. They knew they still wanted to get married on their original wedding date, but switched up their plans to elope in San Diego instead. They decided on a more intimate celebration with just a few family members surrounding them, and to save the big party for later.
Krysta simplified her bridal look by wearing a gown that she actually had picked out for her bridesmaids when the big wedding was still on the books. She also had a wedding bouquet made for this special day from the ever so talented Nurture Flora Co.
Krysta and Adam got married at the Santee Administrative Building in San Diego, California. The building itself is super cool and has a brand new modern look to it. The outdoor ceremony took place just outside the building in a pergola specifically made for this type of thing. Afterward, we ventured over to the nearby Mission Trails Regional Park for bride and groom portraits. Peep the tiny fan Krysta thought to bring because it was in the high 90s that day. You can never be too prepared for high temps on a wedding day!
No matter how “big” a celebration is, it’s always such an incredible experience (and honor) for me to be a part of it. In fact, I would go so far as to say that a lot of times I find the smaller weddings even more meaningful and emotional. Regardless, I love to witness each and every way a couple chooses to celebrate the start of their marriage. Krysta and Adam, congratulations to you both, and I can’t wait to celebrate you at your big wedding in Minnesota!
