La Jolla Beach Engagement Session│Rachel + Grant

There is nothing better than a good beach engagement session, especially when you have the beautiful beaches of San Diego and the cliff backdrops at your disposal. Rachel and Grant decided to take their engagement photos in this hidden little nook of La Jolla, California called Shell Beach. 

The tide was super high, but we managed to snag a little private cove with the coolest rock formations where we were able to take some of their pictures. After that, we moved on to this awesome staircase and completely took it over to take these photos (so worth it!) Once we got enough engagement shots there, we climbed up to the top of the staircase for some epic cliff views and that always stunning ocean backdrop.

The pair looked so beautiful in their coordinating blue outfits. They not only coordinated with each other, but with those sea views too! You can clearly see the love and sweetness these two have for each other, and I feel so lucky that I was able to capture that for them. 

I will be shooting Rachel and Grant’s wedding next spring at the beautiful Green Gables Wedding Estate in San Diego, and this was the first time I got to meet the two in person! I always suggest to my couples to book an engagement photoshoot. Engagement photo sessions are not only a great way to get comfortable with your partner in front of a camera, but they are also a wonderful opportunity to get to know your wedding photographer a little better before the big day.
